Senior Project Manager R17-433
The Senior Project Manager is a highly experienced Project Manager with a solid track record of successfully managing several diverse IT related projects to successful conclusions, bringing the projects in “on time, on budget, and in scope” with high approval ratings from their clients and sponsors. The Senior Project Manager may be assigned to manage multiple projects concurrently. This position oversees all aspects of the project life cycle, using PGE’s formal project management methodology and approved tools to develop a project plan, budget, schedule, risk management approach, change management plan, and communications plan. An Individual serving in this role is responsible for co-ordination of all project related activities, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities to members serving on the project team, and communicating work, schedule, budget, risk and issue status to stakeholders and IT management.
You will support our journey by:
Manage IT projects using a sanctioned PGE IT methodology to assure a solid project work plan, including requirements definition, budget, resource allocation, and a comprehensive risk analysis across all phases of the project.
Consult with management on project proposals to determine goals, time frame, and funding limitations.
Formulate and define technical scope and project objectives.
Develop and update project plan, schedule, risk management plan, change management plan, and communications plan
Identify and schedule project deliverables and milestones.
Using IT standard formats and procedures develop project status reports and documentation for stakeholders and company management as requested.
Oversee development and execution of quality assurance and quality control test plans and monitor testing throughout the project.
Communicate and report monthly to project stakeholders and IT management on project status including budget, scope, schedule, risks, issues, training, and organizational change management.
Update project budget forecasts; develop, request, and follow-up on project budget revision requests; consult with Business Decision Support (BDS) and Accounting on project finances; submit and follow-through on Source Transfers
Initiate, support and follow through on the development of RFPs, project vendor selection, reviews of SOWs, and creation of requisitions and Purchase Orders
Create and track IT work orders, process requests, change requests, and problem resolutions on project related work
Coordinate and respond to requests for scope or schedule changes. Document the impact requested changes will have on staffing levels, budget, quality, and/or schedule.
Consult and collaborate with other Project Managers on project questions and issues, and process improvements
Manage all required PGE project documentation, including archiving to PGE’s document management system (DMS)

You will bring the following skills to our team:
Typically a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering Management or equivalent work experience in related discipline.
PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Preferred 8 - 10 years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of large scale IT systems, with 3 or more years in a Project Management role.
Solid understanding of current technologies in use at PGE.
A good understanding of the software development and system implementation process, including requirements gathering.
A solid background in system design techniques, testing, implementation, release and version control, and training approaches.
