The University of Maryland, College Park, one of the nation’s premier research universities, seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager (SPM) to lead division-level strategic and operational initiatives, programs, and projects within the Division of Administration and Finance.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President and Chief of Staff, the successful candidate serves as technical expert and principal advisor to the Vice President and Senior Leadership Team on complex and challenging initiatives. Examples of initiatives include strategic planning; business and operations architecture development; process development and improvement; project management; workforce analysis; and organizational improvement.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for optimizing and documenting project plans, coordinating and sequencing tasks for a multi-faceted team, aligning activities within budgets, and tracking and maintaining timelines and the overall efficiency of projects from beginning to end.
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree and project management certification required.
A minimum of eight (8) years of professional project management experience with demonstrated experience leading and directing large scale business and operational projects/programs is required.
Experience within a higher education environment is preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
