Duties: Under broad supervision, manages a group of multi-disciplined professional staff who evaluates and reviews designs, drawings, and specifications for new buildings/structures and for renovation projects. Subject matter expert on construction projects, all applicable state, federal and local laws and building codes.
Technical Competencies: Strong written and verbal skills; strong analytical skills; strong ability to read and interpret contracts, construction documents, Building and Life Safety Codes; demonstrates leadership and takes initiative; ability to plan and prioritize work; ability to use Microsoft Word; committed to quality customer service; identifies solutions to complex problems; self-directed and time-line driven. Considerable knowledge of building construction documents; considerable knowledge of the Georgia State Minimum Standards Codes, Georgia State Fire and Accessibility Codes; knowledge of the Americans with Disability Act and guidelines. Ability to serve in a regulatory capacity as a State Fire Inspector/Plan Examiner.
Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Architecture or Engineering from accredited college; Licensed Architect or Engineer with ability to secure Georgia registration within 6 months; 10 years of experience and responsibility of significant project and management activities; Must have valid Georgia’s driver’s license and the ability to travel in and out of state.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess the following:
Experience with Revit/BIM/CAD software. Ability to use Microsoft Project and Excel Experience with eBuilder
Working Conditions: The work is typically performed in an office environment.
Starting salary commensurate with education & experience
