Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the incumbent of this role will be working with the Project Managers in overseeing the administration of all commercial, schedule, and budget tasks for assigned projects including project reporting, forecasting, change orders and analysis of project related financial data. Other business related support to projects group will be performed as required. The Project Controller works well within a project team environment and the position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: • Analyzes, evaluates and forecasts based on progress and performance • Contract administration • Prepare and update, on a regular basis, project cash flow forecasts and budgets • Routinely consolidate data to provide standardised, accurate cost & schedule reports for Project Managers in a timely manner • Notifies Project Managers of any deviations or expected deviations from scope, schedule and/or budget and prepares Changes Notices as required • Update and evaluate the accuracy of the project forecast by assessing actual cost incurred and physical progress achieved for all phases of project • Oversee the coordination of project tasks with Finance, Procurement, and Engineering departments • Assists project manager in presentations/reports to the customer/company management • Provide ongoing improvements in project planning, scheduling, cost control and reporting • Review and highlight the risks/opportunities of projects

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Post Secondary Education in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management preferred or equivalent combination of education or experience • 5-7 years of experience in a project controls function or equivalent Project Management experience • Contract knowledge is required • PMP designation is an asset • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills • Solid understanding of Cost & Scheduling concepts and tools • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Advanced Microsoft Project, and expert Microsoft Excel skills • Team player with good communication proficiency
