The Project Controls Systems Manager at the Massachusetts Port Authority serves as a system manager for capital project applications. Responsibilities to include systems administration and training, assistance with system integrations and overall data integrity. The Capital Systems Manager will also be responsible for engaging in functional enhancements of such applications, and typical project control tasks for various projects. This position will support the Authority's Capital Program totaling approximately $450 Million in annual capital investments.
Systems Administration / Implementation
Application Administrator for capital applications and oversight of the implementation of new project management systems and initiatives
Technical System Integrations
Partner with internal business teams to define business requirements and associated system requirements. Work with the Capital Program team to develop, build and deploy technical solutions
Oversight of System Integrations
Maintain and monitor all Capital Program systems integrations to ensure compliance with requirements, processes and work flows. Assess and suggest process improvements
Training of Systems
Train various staff on utilization of various systems and applications
Business analytics – collect, analyze, validate, and clean data. Design reports to be presented to senior management to inform decision making and strategic planning. Document repository development and management. Archive obsolete data according to MA state requirements
Assist Project Controls Manager to ensure projects are adhering to defined project control processes (estimating, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, communication, analysis and reporting) for the entire life of the project
SECONDARY JOB TASKS: Provide technical expertise and support to project managers on selected projects. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent professional experience required.
EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years of relevant experience.
UNIQUE EXPERTISE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATIONS: Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems Preferred: (Primavera Contract Manager Cost control software, PMWeb)
Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling software
Familiarity with Financial Systems (PeopleSoft, Hyperion)
Familiarity with basic Project Controls Principles
Familiarity with administering websites and sharepoint sites
Proficiency with relational databases
Familiarity with data warehouses and data science concepts
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Current and valid driver's license
Ability to pass a Massport background check and obtain a Massport Security Badge
Ability to pass airfield driving test and obtain Aerodrome License
Ability to pass Massport pre-placement physical, controlled substance testing and background security check
