| Directs, manages and oversees the architectural and engineering designs of Auburn University projects to include the repair, renovation, and/or new construction of facilities. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: responsible for the timely execution of all assigned projects to ensure their successful completion; establishes, administers, and continually improves upon programs, policies, procedures and processes to ensure the safe and timely execution of all work performed by the Design Services team; directs, manages and leads in the design and engineering of projects ensuring that designs produced meet AU design standards, client's needs, balanced with university long term stewardship needs; develops and directs processes and procedures for providing technical oversight and management on all projects; develops effective and timely request for proposal procedures for procuring consultant's services; manages the annual operation budget development process for the team and oversees cost accounting and fund expenditures; provides resource allocation and outsourcing management direction; generates monthly execution and resource management metrics to gauge departmental success; provides cost estimates on projects for client review and approval; provides input in the Facilities Management budget for each fiscal year; should be energetic, assertive, and proactive in all they oversee and do. Minimum Qualifications Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelors degree form an accredited institution in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or relevant field; seven (7) years' experience in managing facilities construction management and construction programs and projects. Five (5) years' experience must be leading and managing large construction programs at the senior management level; knowledge of program management, project management, project execution processes, project procurement and contracting, facilities management, maintenance engineering, construction processes and practices and budgeting principles; registration as Professional Engineer or Architect; and a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to selection. |
