bcIMC is seeking a permanent full-time Project Manager, Solution Delivery within the Information Technology department in Victoria, BC to play a leadership role in ensuring that projects are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle. Working closely with team members and other stakeholders to successfully deliver projects within the constraints of requirements, scope, time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction, the Project Manager manages tradeoffs among these constraints while balancing the needs of the project, the client and the organization.
The Information Technology Department is responsible for developing technology solutions that contribute to the achievement of bcIMC’s mission and long-term goals. The department manages the Corporation’s business applications and information technology infrastructure, providing support to a large group of financial professionals. The IT Department is also responsible for authoring IT-related directives and conducting disaster recovery planning to minimize risk to the Corporation’s delivery of investment services.

Bachelor’s degree in business, computer information systems, management information systems, computer science or related field
3–5 years working in IT project management roles, preferably in a financial services environment such as banking, pension funds, mutual funds, insurance, etc.
Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques and tools
Experience managing large technology initiatives and working with diverse technical teams
Strong ability to effectively influence at all levels of the organization
Solid people management skills that align with the bcIMC culture including facilitating change, driving operational excellence, and striving for continuous improvement
Demonstrated experience working with diverse teams through significant change and with a broad range of diverse and complicated business units
Demonstrated experience influencing teams without direct authority
Proven ability to understand complex business requirements and communicate/present detailed and advanced business solutions
Experience in organizing, planning, and managing large-scale IT projects, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors, while displaying a client service orientation
Proven organizational skills while working across organizational boundaries and reporting lines – ability to work in an agile or matrix environment as required
Successful completion of the CFA Claritas Program or Canadian Securities Course
