Job Description
We are actively seeking to expand our Virtual Design & Construction program with an individual that will excel in performing within a collaborative team to produce quality solutions and meet project-based deadlines. The following are the most essential job responsibilities of a VDC engineer within the Lasco scope:
- Effectively execute VDC operations, specifically within drywall framing, while offering support to both in-office and on-site team members.
- Maintain current and accurate drawings while tracking construction updates and provide reflecting progress reports upon request.
- Identify potential project efficiency opportunities and offer solutions to streamline project success and resolve complex issues.
- Prepare coordinated shop drawings for pre-fabrication use and provide solutions to improve project schedule and efficiency.
- Lead BIM-supported collaboration with multiple project trade partners to provide our team informed reports and solutions, if necessary.
- Timely and accurate interpretation of contract documents, project scope and customer expectations.
- Maintain a standard practice of document control and with the ability compare 2D and 3D data between different drawing/file versions to identify updates.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Earned education in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience in the VDC field.
- Intermediate level of software knowledge in Autodesk packages such as Revit and AutoCAD with strong technical skills. Proficiency with BIM authoring and analyzing.
- Desire to join a flat-team environment that involves full transparency, collaboration and a people driven approach.
- Experience in architecture and construction engineering. Understanding in drywall framing strongly preferred but not required.
- Ability to understand technical drawings and plans with knowledge of working in a VDC-related position. Prior experience in drywall framing preferred but not required.
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
