The Construction Management (CM) program at Indiana State University invites candidates to apply for a position of Instructor – 10-month, multi-year contract. The CM program is housed in the Bailey College of Engineering & Technology within the Department of Built Environment (BE). The department was established in 2010 and is the home of four undergraduate programs: Architectural Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Interior Architecture Design, and Safety Management, as well as the Occupational Safety Management MS.
Position Description
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching in the area of (but not limited to) foundational topics of construction, pre-construction, project development, and project management. They will actively contribute to continuing program development, will collaborate with colleagues, and will engage with students to promote curriculum in areas of construction management. This individual will teach related topics in an intensely active, outcomes-based learning environment in which innovative pedagogy, timely curriculum, creative assignments, and excellence in student work is paramount. Delivery of course materials in on?campus sections must be replicated through Indiana State University’s highly regarded online program.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Construction Management or a closely related field and three years of experience in the domestic United States or Canadian construction industry. Some teaching experience is preferred. Additional experience in horizontal construction is desirable. Candidates also should demonstrate communication skills in written and spoken English.
